Artist, Counsellor, For Children

I have worked in the field of mental health for fourteen years as a Counsellor and Art Therapist. I feel very certain (and neuroscience research is getting right behind me on this now!) that being creative in one way or another is good for most people. I think it is something that is important to cultivate and maintain throughout life’s stages.

Over the past fourteen years my experience as a Counsellor has taught me that people, no matter what they may be troubled by, have the capacity to be creative and thoughtful in regards to their own situation. I believe this is the case for very young children as well as adults and I take this approach in my counselling and art therapy practice. I have worked within a large organisation and in private practice and am currently working in a primary school as an Art Therapist working with students newly arrived to Australia.
